Mission Statement

The mission of the Edison Elementary PTA is to support and enhance:
–the educational programs at Edison
–the staff and management at Edison
–the relationship between parents, staff, students, and the OPS school district
–the sense of family in our school community
–the development of every child so she/he may grow and learn to her/his full potential

Money raised by the PTA has helped funds many things, including:

  • Money to help your teacher’s out-of-pocket classroom expenses
  • Elmo projectors for classrooms
  • Author visits
  • Transportation costs for field trips
  • Spring Carnivals
  • School assemblies
  • Playground equipment
  • Scholarships for Edison Alumni


Our group of parents and teachers meets every month to plan upcoming school events, meet face to face with the principal, and brainstorm new ways to enhance the Edison experience.


Joining the PTA costs $5 per person for the full school year. While meetings are not mandatory, you must be present for your vote to count.

The Edison Elementary PTA usually meets on the first Thursday of each month in the Edison library. We provide childcare so you can focus and participate at the meetings.

We welcome you to take an active role in your child’s education. Of course, we are always here to listen to your concerns or suggestions even if your schedule won’t allow for any commitment.
