Edison Carnival + 50th Birthday

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate our school’s 50th Birthday. This event would not be possible with out the help of our PTA parents and teachers volunteering to help set up, work games booths, and tear down at the end. THANK YOU volunteers!

We also would not have been able to have such a fun raffle basket give away without the generosity of the Edison parents, staff, and community. Thank you to everyone who donated items for our raffle baskets.

Many local businesses very generously donated passes and gift cards to our raffle so our Edison families could have FUN experiences this summer.

These generous businesses include:

Premier Dental
Flagship Commons
Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
The Rose Children’s Theater
Omaha Children’s Museum
Moylan Iceplex
Kindermusik
Strategic Air Command and Space Museum

Thank you all for your support of the Edison PTA! All funds raised at the Carnival help support PTA activities during the 2016-2017 school year.

Edison Principal Community Interview

Hello Edison Family!

If you haven’t heard the news yet, Edison will welcome a new principal to our school for the 2015-2016 school year. The interview team has narrowed the field down to two potential candidates.

There will be an OPS Principal Community Interview on Thursday, April 30 at 4:30pm in the Edison Elementary Gym. This meeting is open to the public. I’m strongly urging all parents, teachers, and staff members to attend this meeting, if possible.

This is our only opportunity to meet the two potential candidates and hear their answers to our pre-screened and OPS-approved questions.

Discussion topics must be submitted in advance, and no questions will be allowed during the community interview. Questions need to be submitted to the OPS District Communications department by Tuesday April 28, 2015.

Questions can be submitted to: todd.andrews@ops.org or via phone at (402) 557-2070.

Please share this information with anyone you know from Edison who may not be on our PTA mailing list, and please try to make it to this Community Interview on Thursday.

Don’t hesitate to show up after work, even if the meeting has already started. This will be your only opportunity to meet the person who will be leading Edison next year.

Let me know if you have any questions or issues submitting your questions to the communications department. Remember, questions must be submitted before Tuesday, April 28! I hope to see you on Thursday.
